Caterina.net: America is over, a nice little article from Caterina.net regarding the potential state of culture once gas actually costs what it should. I have had a few discussions about this recently with people. Urban design and architecture are going to have to revolutionize American culture so we are not so dependent upon our cars. Even being a cyclist, I still have to drive around town to get supplies for projects, groceries and other awkward objects that bikes are not so easy to deal with in car infested urban areas.
