Controlled Chaos: European Cities Do Away with Traffic Signs - International - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News

No traffic signs? Sweet. I would be scared to ride in Belgium without traffic laws, though. Those guys are not the best drivers I have ever encountered. Anyways, the initial idea is great: Remove the regulations so that people have to rely upon themselves. This forces them to slow down because they have to be concerned with what the guy next to them is going to do, as well. Sometimes I think Providence and New York drivers already abide by this since the paint on the road seems to mean nothing. It would be interesting to see what happens with this in small US towns.
